Sir,

            Keeping in view the surge of the second wave of COVID-19, your good-self has rightly decided to have a two day lockdown in a week. Yesterday i.e.  the 9th of May was Sunday, the second day of weekly lockdown. On 9th May Sh. Rajinder Beri, MLA  from Jalandhar Central Constituency inaugurated an open gym in Dhannowali District Jalandhar. The photocopy of the news cutting of the vernacular paper published today depicting the photograph of inauguration is enclosed   herewith. There was no objection in regard to the opening of the open- gym.  It could have been dedicated to the public without inauguration     

            If an ordinary person violates the COVID instructions, criminal case stands registered against him. A few days ago a criminal case has been registered in Phagwara, District Kapurthala against a comedian, Ms Sugandha Mishra whose marriage ceremony was solemnized in a marriage palace violating the COVID instructions.

            Now a MLA has violated the decision of the Chief Minister. Will the Punjab Government treat at par with an ordinary person who violated the COVID instructions and take a criminal action against him ?.

            COVID-19 की दूसरी लहर के बढ़ने को ध्यान में रखते हुए, आपने हफ्ते में दो दिन का तालाबंदी करने का उचित फैसला लिया है । कल यानि 9 मई रविवार को साप्ताहिक बंद का दूसरा दिन था। 9 मई को, जालंधर केंद्रीय विधानसभा  से विधायक राजिंदर बेरी ने धन्नोवाली क्षेत्र,  जिला जालंधर में एक ओपन जिम का उद्घाटन किया। लोकार्पण की तस्वीर को दर्शाते हुए आज प्रकाशित किए गए हिंदी समाचार पत्र की समाचार कटिंग की छायाप्रति संलग्न है। ओपन-जिम खोलने के संबंध में किसी को कोई आपत्ति नहीं है । यह बिना उद्घाटन के जनता को समर्पित किया जा सकता था I

     यदि कोई सामान्य व्यक्ति COVID निर्देशों का उल्लंघन करता है, तो उसके खिलाफ आपराधिक मामला दर्ज होता है। कुछ दिनों पहले फगवाड़ा, जिला कपूरथला में एक कॉमेडियन, सुश्री सुगंधा मिश्रा के खिलाफ एक आपराधिक मामला दर्ज किया गया था, जिनका विवाह समारोह COVID ​​निर्देशों की उलंघना करते हुए  एक मैरिज पैलेस में सम्पन हुआ ।

     अब एक विधायक ने मुख्यमंत्री के फैसले का उल्लंघन किया है। क्या पंजाब सरकार विधायक, जिसने मुख्यमंत्री की COVID निर्देशों की उलंघना की है, को एक सामान्य व्यक्ति जैसा वयवहार करते हुए आपराधिक मामला विधायक के खिलाफ दर्ज करेगी ?
