Mandal No 5 President Mr Jawahar Sood , General Secretary Mr Vijay Kalia , B.J.P Mandal President Mr Arun Khurana , Mr Rajesh Jain and others apprised me to take up the matter with the Union Railway Minister Mr Suresh Prabhu regarding introducing of new Super Fast Train between Katra-Amritsar-Nanded Sahib ( Daily ) and back and similarly a new Super Fast train between Amritsar- Mumbai ( Daily ) and back daily and a new train Shatabdi or Jan Shatabdi between New Delhi-Amritsar ( Daily ) and back . As the deputation said that at present all the trains running between Amritsar- Delhi like Shatabdi Express , Amritsar-Nanded Sahib Super Fast ( Sackand Express ) , Amritsar- Mumbai Golden Temple Express are already having long waiting lists . I have assured all of them that soon I will be writing letter with fresh proposals to the Union Railway Minister Mr Suresh Prabhu .

Yesterday a deputation led by Senior B.J.P. Leaders S Gurnam Singh , Ashok Kumar Pardhan , Pawan Malhan , Lucky Malhan visited my residence and apprised of the problems faced by the residents of Ekta Nagar , Chugguti , New Bhasirpura in Ward No 15 in regard to the Street Light Problems that most of the street light points are not glowing . While I was shocked when S Gurnam Singh said that he had complained number of times to get the street light points intact as most of the street light points are out of order . Similarly Ashok Kumar Pardhan said that most of the Street Light Points in the mentioned areas are out of order and not glowing . While Mr Pawan Malhan apprised of the other problems to which I assured them of writing a letter to the Commission Municipal Corporation forwarding your grievances . Others present were B.J.P. As maximum number of Express , Super fast , Goods Trains cross from this Railway Crossing on Katra- Delhi route most of the time this Railway crossing remains closed . The necessity is to construct a Rail Under Bridge or Rail Over Bridge . I promised them to write a detailed letter to the Union Railway Minister Mr Suresh Prabhu , Union Minister for Roads and National Highways Mr Nitin Gadkari in regard to the demands of the public in public interest .

Yesterday Evening a deputation met me to write a letter to the Hon'ble Union Minister for Highways , Shipping Mr Nitin Gadkari Ji and Hon'ble Union Minister for Railways Mr Suresh Prabhu Ji highlighting the problems faced by the people of Bashirpura , Guru Nanak Pura East and West , Chugguti , Bharat Colony , Kot Ram Dass , Karol Bagh regarding construction of Flyover or Railway Under Bridge at Guru Nanak Pura Railway Crossing and Ladewali Railway Crossing .Similarly another deputation from village Dakoha apprised of an another Railway Fly Over or Railway Under Bridge at Dakoha Railway Crossing . They said that the rush of Trains on this Railway Crossing keep the gates almost closed maximum time and that really some times upsets the residents . I have assured them of writing the problems faced by residents of Jalandhar Central Constituency to both the Union Minister and seeking Financial Budget also for these said proposals within a short period .Those present were B.J.P. Subject: - Request to monitor the reasons of slow pace of Construction and to speed up construction of Two Fly over’s at Rama Mandi Chownk and P.A.P. Chownk Jalandhar being constructed on National Highway Road falling under Municipal Corporation , Jalandhar City.
Dear Sir Gadkari Ji,
I am to bring to your kind notice that the construction of Two Flyovers at Rama Mandi Chownk and P.A.P. Chownk are at a very slow pace. The construction of the both Flyovers is at a slow pace since 2011. As both these flyovers are being constructed on National Highway as the place of construction falls under the Jalandhar Municipal Corporation Jurisdiction. The Private Player SOMA is constructing these Fly- Over’s. Whatever may be the reasons and excuses the Private Player is forwarding to the Union Government, National Highway Authority of India but the sufferers are the Common man and the Vehicle owners who witness long Traffic Hazards on these Chownks time to time. As the major reasons for Traffic Hazards on these Chownks are as the Traffic movement from Rajasthan, Haryana, and Delhi Many Areas of Punjab to Jammu and Kashmir, Himachal Pradesh Amritsar, Taran Taran passes from these Chownks up and down towards their destinations. It is requested that you should personally take interest and direct the officials of the National Highway Authority of India to speed up the construction work on these Fly over’s in public interest and the completion be made within a stipulated period in public interest .

Similarly the slow down of work on the Rama Mandi Fly over and P.A.P. Chownk Fly over have put the vehicle owners moving towards Jammu and Kashmir , Amritsar , Pathankot in dilemma over the delay of the completion of these Flyovers . Similarly from Rama Mandi Chownk to P.A.P. the turn towards Ludhiana needs rectification like opposite Jalandhar Cantt Railway Station where traffic from Hoshiarpur turns but their is service lane is in order . I will be soon writing to Union Minister Mr Nitin Gadkari to take necessary action for the completion of these Fly overs within a stipulated period as I assured B.J.P. Senior Leaders Mr Anil Sacher , Puneet Shukla , Arun Khurana , Jawahar Sood , Rajat Mohindru , Ashish Chopra , Rajan Kalia and others who were present .

Earlier in January 2015 Ministry of Railways had asked the Masses throughout India to forward proposals for the Union Railway Budget 2015-2016, as I had already earlier forwarded the following proposals for your active consideration please. I am once again forwarding in public Interest .

1.         JALANDHAR CITY RAILWAY STATION AND RAILWAY COLONY JALANDHAR CITY

(a)        The need of time is to get Reconstruction of bitumen metalled roads in Railway Colony No. 1, 2 & 3 in Jalandhar City.

(B)       Additional Street Lights points in Railway Colony No. 1, 2 & 3 be installed as per the requirement.

(c)        CFL / LED power saver Street lights be replaced with the old streets lights of Sodium Bulbs.

(d)       The open drain adjacent to Mohalla Gobindgarh Jalandhar, in the premises of Railway         Station             Jalandhar should be replaced with under-ground sewerage       system.

(f)        24 Hours RO drinking water be available on all the Plat Form No 1, 2, 3 for the Passengers.

(g)        Opening of more ticket booking reservation counters keeping in view the heavy rush of Passengers on the other side adjoining Bashirpura along with Car and Scooter parking...

(h)       Restart of Jalandhar City- Katra and Katra- Jalandhar City Fast Passenger Train ( Daily ) for the convenience of Common Man , Daily Passengers ,Pilgrims in Public Interest .

(i)        Introduction of New Superfast Train between Amritsar- Mumbai (Daily)

(j)        Construction of Urinals / Toilets at Platform Number 2/3.

2.         JALANDHAR CANTT RAILWAY STATION AND RAILWAY COLONY JALANDHAR CANTT

(a)        Reconstruction of bitumen metals roads in Railway Colony in Jalandhar Cantt.

(B)       Additional Street Lights points in Railway Colony be increased as per the requirement.

(c)        CFL / LED power saver Street lights be replaced with the old streets lights.

(d)       Plat Form No. 2 and 3 need immediate attention for extending the shed for the         passengers to keep them safe from Sun light. Cold , Scorching Heat during Summer     and rain.

(e)        Construction of Boundary wall adjoining Plat Form No. 3 for safety and security of the Passengers.

(f)        Reconstruction of Base Kitchen functioning 7 X 24 hours preparing Hygienic Food for Railway             Passengers boarding trains from this stations.

(g)        Reconstruction of waiting Halls and Waiting Rooms for the passengers who wait for boarding             long     distance train.

(h)       Expansion of more railway ticket reservation booking window.

(I)         24 Hours RO drinking water be available on Platform No 1 and 2/3 for the Passengers.

(J)       Running of EMU between Phagwara – Jalandhar Cantt- Jalandhar City – Kartarpur up and down after every One Hour.

(K)       Opening of New Current Ticket Window and Reservation Counters on the opposite side of Railway Station Rama Mandi side for the convenience of the Passengers coming from Hoshiarpur Side .

(l)      Construction of Urinal/Toilets on Platform No 2/3 .

                      It is requested that the proposals dispatched to your office be brought under active consideration keeping in mind public Interest and the proposals be forwarded to the concerned departments for necessary action please. It is requested to allocate adequate funds for the clearance of the above said proposals.
