EARTH DAY 2024 ….Good Morning ...The Theme for Earth Day 2024 is "Protect Our Species". It aims to draw attention to the rapid extinction of species in our world today, which is directly linked to human activities. These include climate change, deforestation, habitat loss, trafficking and poaching, unsustainable agriculture, pollution, and pesticides. The credit of observing April 22 as Earth Day goes to U.S. Senator Gaylord Nelson of Wisconsin who raised the concern about the exploitation of the Earth and observed April 22, 1970 as The Earth Day and 20 million people in U.S. participated. Since then April 23 is being observed as the Earth Day in the whole World. But in India, we call the Earth as Mother Earth i.e. Dharti Mata. Obviously the population living on the earth becomes the Earth's progeny. It is this part which refrain us from over exploiting the Mother Earth which is the part of Indian Culture ---------A thought to which we have to revert in order to save the earth from exploitation.
