Toran is associated with Hindu weddings, it is placed at the entrance of a bride' house. Before entering the house, groom touches the Toran seven times; along with the image of Lord Ganesha it symbolizes an auspicious beginning.

Maud is worn on the side of bride and groom's eyes. According to Hindu traditions bride and groom can see each other only after the seven sacred rounds around the fire.
