RSS was founded in 1925 by Sh Keshav Baliram Hedgewar, a doctor in the city of Nagpur, on the eve of Vijayadashami Day having a commitment to selfless service to India. The organization is the world's largest voluntary missionary organization. The organization promotes the ideals of upholding Indian culture and the values of a civil society .
