I remember the first memorial of Shaheed-E-Azam S Bhagat Singh at Khatkhat Kalan was raised during first Akali-Jan Sangh Government in the Year 1970 . The foundation Stone of the said Memorial was laid by my Father Late Sh Manmohan Kalia , the then Local Government Minister on March 23 , 1970 and inauguration of the said memorial was done by Late Giani Zail Singh the then Chief Minister , Punjab . Now the new Memorial stands constructed at KhatKhat Kalan with the efforts of S Parkash Singh Badal , Former Chief Minister , Punjab .In Year 2007 a Commemorative coin of Rs 100 with embossed Photo of Shaheed-E-Azam Bhagat Singh was released by the Government of India minted by I.G.Mint Kolkata on the occasion of Birth centenary of Shaheed Bhagat Singh . A function was held at KhatKhat Kalan and I was present at the function as the then Local Bodies Minister . Paying tributes to Shaheed-E-Azam S. Bhagat Singh on the Martyrdom day that is 23 rd March 2019 at Shaheed Bhagat Singh Chownk , Jalandhar City .
