SUBJECT: - SUGGESTIONS FOR THE UNION RAILWAY BUDGET 2016-2017 FOR JALANDHAR CANTT RAILWAY STATION

Dear Sir,

                     With reference to Letter dated 22-1-2015 from D.R.M. Ferozepur Northern Railway, I am forwarding you the following suggestions for your active consideration and allocating of adequate Funds as earlier I had forwarded suggestions / proposal for Jalandhar City Railway Station. 

JALANDHAR CANTT RAILWAY STATION

(a)                    Jalandhar Cantt is the busiest Railway Station at present from where most of the Trains coming from West, South, and East touch this Station while on their route to Katra, Jammu Tawi, Udampur, Katra and this Railway Station is known as By Pass to Jammu and Kashmir and from Jammu and Kashmir to other parts of the country. .

(b)                   It is requested that 24x7 Pantry Kitchen be available with food and Snacks , Similarly new Waiting Hall and new Waiting Rooms be constructed at Jalandhar Cantt Railway Station ..

(c)                   As the need of time is of extending the Shelter shed on both sides of the Platform No 1 and 2/3 keeping in mind the winter, summer and Monsoon Season.

(d)                   It is requested to install fresh R.O. system for safe Drinking Water for the Passengers. It is requested for construction of Wall on the side of Platform No 2/3 for the safety and security of the Passengers during Night. It is requested for construction of Urinals on Platform No 2/3.  It is requested to enhance the number of Reservation Counters and Ticket Counters.

(e)                    As most of the Trains touch Jalandhar Cantt Railway Station in the Night , It is requested that a new Shuttle between Phagwara-Jalandhar Cantt-Jalandhar City-Kartarpur be introduced which should run after one hour up and down for the benefit of the Passengers .      It is requested for beautification of the Platform more LED / CFL Light Fittings be installed. It is requested that the Railway Parking space be increased keeping in mind the rush of the vehicles in coming Days.      It is requested to allocate funds for the Railway Colony of Jalandhar Cantt.

(f)                    It is requested that new Trains up and down from Amritsar-Mumbai and Mumbai-Amritsar Daily , Amritsar- Chennai and Chennai-Amritsar daily , Amritsar- Vishakhapatnam and Vishakhapatnam –Amritsar ( Heera Kund Express ) frequency be made daily , Jalandhar City-Katra and Katra –Jalandhar City Passenger train be restored which used to run during trial few months back . The number of Coaches of Amritsar- Haridwar and Haridwar- Amritsar Jan Shatabdi Express be increased.
