Subject:-    Suggestions in regard to Jalandhar for making provision in  the   2016-2017          Union  Railway Budget

                   In response to the letter dated 22-01-2016 from Divisional                Railway Manager, Ferozpur (Punjab) seeking suggestions in regard       to making provisions in the forthcoming Union Railway Budget for     improvement in Jalandhar, I hereby give the suggestions which          are as follows:-

1.      My constituency Jalandhar -35 has been crisscrossed by Railway      lines by 7           places.  There is dire need of ROB/ RUB's to connect        the different areas           namely , (1)Bashirpura Railway crossing, (2)   Guru Nanakpura Railway      crossing ,(3) Ladowali road Railway   crossing, (4) Ladhewali Railway crossing,        (5) Dakoha Railway      crossing , (6)  Dhanowali Railway crossing and (7) Guru   Gobind       Singh Avenue Railway crossing.

2.      Keeping in view the increase in the influx of passengers at        Jalandhar   Railway Station there is dire need to open the second          entry of the railway     station from the goods shed side i.e.  Mall        Godam sides.

3.      The  parking area of the Jalandhar Railway station need to be re-      planed and           multi level car parking should be built as        Jalandhar Railway Station has           ample place to accommodate       the same.

4.      The  width of the road going through the Railway Quarters      touching           Bashirpura and Guru Nanakpura road from Gobindgarh mohalla need to be            doubled keeping in view the increase in the   vehicular  traffic.

5.      The most of the Railway Quarters near railway station Jalandhar      are  in a           delapilated condition and  are lying  vacant. There is       need to      re-plan the           area and the said area has a          commercial value and same can be           exploited commercially to    have increase in the revenue of railways.

6.      There is a open drain of Jalandhar Railways going along Railway       colony no. 1, i.e. back side railway Quarters and GRP Police         Station and  touching the           boundary wall of Mohalla Gobindgarh which gives foul smell though           intermentaly covered with CC       slabs. There is need to lay underground sewerage  in place of it.

7.      There are no urinals  on  Platform No. 2 and 3, the provision of the same may kindly be made.

8.      There is no passage connecting Sant Nagar to the road going  from Railway           Station Jalandhar  to Sant Nagar crossing and onward.    The passage to Sant           Nagar which is a residential locality may        kindly be given at the time of re-          planning the area of dilapilated    Railway Quarters.

9.      The  elevators connecting railway platforms no. 1,2, and 3 may be   constructed to fecilitate easy passage to the passengers.

          I hope  due consdiration will be given to the afore said    suggestions and           neccesary provision will be made in the          forthcoming Railway Union Budget           2016-17.
