Sh. Manoranjan Kalia Former State President BJP Punjab and Former Minister Punjab in a Press Statement condemned AAP Government Punjab for selecting the wrong nomenclature for  Punjab Sports Mega event inaugurated by S. Bhagwant Singh Mann the Chief Minister Punjab on August 29,2022. It is pertinent to note that AAP Government named the said  Mega Sports event as "Khedan Vatan Punjab Diyan". The translation of word Vatan in English means Country or Nation.  It smacks of Mischievousness of the mind who suggested incorporating   the said word Vatan in the nomenclature  and also who accepted the proposal in the AAP Government that Punjab is not a State in India but an Independent Country. Instead of inserting word Vatan in the nomenclature of Sports event, it should have been "Khedan Pradesh Punjab Diyan". The said nomenclature gives a wrong message to the youth.

Sh. Kalia asked S. Bhagwant Singh Mann the Chief Minister Punjab to take note of this serious issue and amend the nomenclature of Mega Sports event as "Khedan Pradesh Punjab Diyan" lest your silence amounts to acquiescence in the same way your silence connotes acquiescence on the statement of S. Gurpatwant Singh Pannu of financing the AAP Admi Party in Punjab Elections 2022 by S.F.J.(Sikhs For Justice).

श्री मनोरंजन कालिया पूर्व प्रदेश भाजपा अध्यक्ष पंजाब और पूर्व मंत्री पंजाब ने एक प्रेस विज्ञप्ति  में पंजाब स्पोर्ट्स मैगा इवेंट के लिए गलत नामकरण का चयन करने के लिए आप सरकार पंजाब की निंदा की, जिसका उद्घाटन जालंधर में 29 अगस्त, 2022 को पंजाब के मुख्यमंत्री स. भगवंत सिंह मान द्वारा किया गया । यह ध्यान देने योग्य है कि आप सरकार ने उक्त मैगा स्पोर्ट्स इवेंट का नाम " खेडां वतन पंजाब दियां" रखा। वतन शब्द का अनुवाद का अर्थ है देश या राष्ट्र। यह शरारती  दिमाग की उपज है जिन्होंने उक्त शब्द वतन को नामकरण में शामिल करने का सुझाव दिया और जिन्हो ने यह प्रस्ताव स्वीकार किया  जिसका मतलब यह निकलता है कि पंजाब भारत में एक राज्य नहीं बल्कि एक स्वतंत्र देश है। स्पोर्ट्स इवेंट के  नामकरण में वतन शब्द डालने के बजाय इसे " खेडां प्रदेश पंजाब दियां " होना चाहिए था। उक्त नामकरण युवाओं को गलत संदेश देता है।

श्री कालिया ने  कहा कि पंजाब के मुख्यमंत्री स. भगवंत सिंग मान इस गंभीर मुद्दे को संज्ञान में ले और मेगा स्पोर्ट्स इवेंट के नामकरण को "खेडां प्रदेश पंजाब दियां " के रूप में संशोधित करने के लिए निर्देश दे,  ऐसा न हो कि  कहीं आपकी चुप्पी को आपकी स्वीकृति समज लिया जाए। उसी तरह  जैसे आपकी चुप्पी स. गुरपतवंत सिंह पन्नू के बयान पर सहमति का संकेत देती है कि आम  आदमी पार्टी को पंजाब असेंबली  इलेक्शन 2022  में  सिख फॉर जस्टिस ने चुनावी चंदा दिया है।
