The Union Finance Minister Mr Arun Jaitley on Friday during a Press Conference clearly said that The Goods and Services Tax (GST) Council on Friday slashed tax on over 200 items, reduced the levy on restaurants to 5 per cent, left only 50 products under the highest 28 per cent slab, and increased the composition limit for small businesses, as it undertook a comprehensive overhaul of the new tax regime. Certainly These changes will benefit consumers and businesses alike, as various consumer products will become cheaper . The Indian economy will get a boost from the likely consumption boost . The slashing of Tax rates on various items will certainly prove to be a feather in a cap for the Indian Economy and specially to the consumers .
