REMEMBERING OLD MEMORIES OF EMERGENCY ……………… My Father Late Manmohan Kalia was arrested on 25 Th June 1975 from our house and remained for 19 Months in Jail .Similarly Hind Samachar Group of News Papers Chief Editor Late Lala Jagat Narain Ji also remained for 19 Months in Jail. As at that time I was studying in Doaba College Jalandhar, I used to distribute Hand written News Paper during Mid Night highlighting the access during Emergency .I succeeded in getting two pictures from the Album. One Picture is when my father Late Manmohan Kalia Former Minister, Punjab was when released from Ferozepur Jail in 1977 and was given a warm reception at Jalandhar City Railway Station. In the picture there are Late Dr Baldev Parkash , Late Thakur Ganpat Rai , Late Vaid Om Parkash Dutt , Late Mohan Lal and others , In second picture my father Late Manmohan Kalia is addressing a public rally alongwith Former Prime Minister of India Mr Atal Behari Vajpayee at Bulton Park Jalandhar City in 1977 .Really when the Flash Back is reconciled in my mind of 1975 terror of M.I.S.A ( Maintenance Internal and Security Act ) comes in my mind when the Opposition Leaders of Various Political Parties were arrested and the Fundamental Rights were freezed with Internal and external Emergency enforced by the then Prime Minister of India Smt Indira Gandhi . At that time Bharatiya Jan Sangh Leaders Late Jagdish Narain, Late Suriender Nath Murgai, Late Ram Lal Bajaj, Late Murari Lal Kapoor, Late Amarnath Dogra, Late D.D. Jyoti, Late Ved Parkash Kapoor, Mr Krishan Lal Dhall also remained in Jail during the Days of Emergency.
